Flow Machine as Music Analysis Tool

Not all music is “in flow”.  In fact a great deal of it isn’t.  When music IS in flow, it can benefit the listener in many ways – such as increased creativity, stress reduction, enhanced concentrative abilities, and more.

How is “Flow” in Music Determined?

Find the Ideal Flow Rotation Speed

Use the table below to look up the tempo (beats-per-minute/BPM) of the music you want to pair with the Flow Machine.

If you are using the Flow Pro Model, you can adjust the rotation speed via the remote anywhere from 0 RPM up to 4 RPM.  This range will accomodate 99% of the music that’s out there.

If you are using the Flow Machine Theraputic model,  itrotates at 1.2 RPM – choose music with a tempo of around 76-80 BPM.

These settings work best with music in 4/4 time.

INSTRUCTIONS

This soundscape and visual experience are built around The Flow Machine concept — a slow rotational movement (about 0.8 RPM) designed to guide your awareness gently up and down the body’s seven chakra centers.

The moving band of light travels along the chakra path, while the background colors shift to align with each chakra’s associated energy and hue. As you watch, keep your gaze on the central point of light and focus attention on the matching location along your spine. Notice the sensation, the energy quality, and any emotional or physical response that arises.

The synchronized audio is composed to rise and fall with the visual movement, creating a full-body meditative experience. If you prefer your own meditation music, simply mute the video and choose a track around 60–64 BPM, a tempo range closely connected with relaxed breathing and calm focus as well as the rhythm of the flow line itself.

Settle in, breathe deeply, and allow the flow of light and sound to guide your energy into balance and alignment.
More information about each chakra is provided below.
